Chief Medical OfficerThomas Fuchs, MD
Born in Hungary and raised in New York City, where he also raised his family and spent 40 years practicing medicine, Dr. Thomas Fuchs brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to his role as the new Medical Director of Kamin Health. His medical journey began in Guadalajara, Mexico, where he attended medical school, and continued with extensive training at Mount Sinai Queens. With over 40 years of combined experience in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine, Dr. Fuchs has been a dedicated attending physician at both Maimonides Medical Center and Mount Sinai Brooklyn.
Dr. Fuchs is board–certified in Emergency Medicine and has developed a keen interest in disease prevention, driven by his extensive experience managing chaotic emergency departments. This unique perspective has shaped his professional philosophy: to encourage patients to seek emergency care only when absolutely necessary, emphasizing the importance of preventive measures and proactive health management.
Dr. Fuchs has been a pioneer in creating environments where patients can seek care at urgent care settings rather than the emergency room. He established Brooklyn’s first urgent care center and started Brooklyn’s first at-home urgent care service, demonstrating his dedication to accessible, patient-centered care. Additionally, he has helped grow several other NY and NJ-based urgent care centers during his career. He believes that a good healthcare facility can only be great if it fosters a patient-centered environment that is open to direct feedback from patients. Dr. Fuchs is committed to listening to patient feedback and encourages anyone who wishes to reach out directly to do so.
With his strong work ethic, extensive knowledge, and passion for patient-centered care, Dr. Fuchs brings new life to Kamin Health. His leadership is expected to further enhance the quality of care and service excellence that Kamin Health is known for.
Chief Medical DirectorJerry Frenkel, MD
Dr. Jerry Frenkel MD was born in Brooklyn, raised in Rockland County and currently living in Long Island, Dr. Jerry Frenkel has always maintained a strong New York connection and presence. His professional and academic career started while attending Touro College of Arts and Sciences in Brooklyn, NY where his passion was always his love for the sciences earning him the excellence in Biology Award at his undergraduate commencement. After graduating with his Bachelors in Biology, he went on to pursue his dream of becoming a medical doctor at New York Medical College in Valhalla, New York. During his undergraduate training, and medical training, he spent many hours in the exhilarating and stimulating environment of the Emergency Department and found his calling; to become an Emergency Medicine Physician.
He proceeded to do his Emergency Medicine Residency at New York Presbyterian Queens where his strong work ethic, easy disposition and clever intellect earned him the prestigious title of Chief Resident. Loving patient centered care, medical education and clinical ultrasound; he completed a fellowship in Clinical Ultrasound at New York Presbyterian Queens and is board certified in both Emergency Medicine and Advanced Emergency Medicine Ultrasonography.
Dr Frenkel currently holds the positions of Attending Physician and Administrative Director of Emergency Ultrasound at New York Presbyterian Queens; as well as Clinical Instructor of Emergency Medicine, Weill Cornell Medical College.
